Engineering (1580)
A depiction of mining engineering in 1580 showing mining capstans water jug art, which seems to give a depiction of the classic “how to get water out of mines problem”, the classic genius puzzle that eventually spurred the invention of the steam engine, and hence the science of thermodynamics (1850), a problem that would not be solved until the 1690 invention design of the Papin engine by French physicist Denis Papin.
